Kyle Maki was a man of contradictions. An ex-university professor turned bus driver, he had little time for the youthful inexperience of Amber Jones, his parents' summer employee at their amethyst mine. For her part, Amber was determined to make Kyle see her as a woman--until she learned the true reason for his sudden change of occupation, and realized there was more than a difference of age and opinion between them.
