University housing in Canada

Description
This is a critical survey by two architects of university residences in Canada at a time of growth in numbers of students and when undergrad housing was becoming an acute problem. An architectural approach indicates need for a residence to be part of a continuity of university buildings and spaces, designed to relate living and studying in a meaningful way. This book illustrates with photographs, architectural plans and drawings how few university residences in Canada fulfill these qualifications.
