Description
This book records seals prevalent in south India from ancient times to 20th century AD. Seals from published sources as well as private sources which have not been reported are recored. A book specifically on south Indian seals have not been published till now and thus this book fills this void.
The book is broadly divided into four chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the seals. Uninscribed seals are dealt in the second chapter while the third chapter covers the seals on copper plate grants. The fourth chapter is devoted to the inscribed seals. A section from Ain-i-Akbari has also been added which throws light on the seals prevalent during Akbar's time.
