Ministersessel oder Revolution?

Ministersessel oder Revolution?

by Otto Strasser

Description

This is Otto Strasser's account of his split with Hitler in 1930. It describes a lenghty argument that he had with Hitler. Hitler's words ring true in this little book in as much they express ideas similar to those recorded in his much debated table talk and elsewhere. Strasser made what appeared to him to be a heroic defense of "socialism" in terms of Nazi ideology of "National Socialism." An outspoken anti-Semite, he, nonetheless, challenged Hitler's belief in Hitler's notion of the Jewish conspiracy to dominate the world. He also questioned Hitler's logic on other issues. The 1930s' German historian Konrad Heiden used this volume as a source in his outstanding work on the history of the Nazi movement. Lengthy parts of the Strasser book can be read in English in the English translation of the Heiden book that is found in many university libraries. Strasser's little volume did have propaganda merit for Strasser. He also needed the money from its sales after the loss of his Nazi publishing company to Hitler when his other two partners in the business sold their shares to Hitler.
